Dulux Paint Calculator

Dulux is one of the easiest paints to find in Canada (Canadian Tire and other PPG retailers). This Dulux paint calculator uses your room size plus the spread rate on Diamond, Lifemaster, or Ultra — the same gallon math, your can’s coverage.

Dulux at Canadian Tire — buy once

Running out mid-wall means a second trip and a possible batch mismatch. 768 sq ft of two-coat coverage ÷ 400 = 1.9 gallons. Buy 2 of Diamond or Lifemaster for smooth primed 12×12 walls; buy 3 if you skipped primer on a colour change.

Weathershield and exterior products cover less per gallon — switch paint type in the calculator and read the exterior label, not the interior Diamond number.

Other store brands

Home Depot cans are usually Behr. Home Hardware is often Beauti-Tone. Lowe’s is often Valspar. Chart: Canadian paint coverage by brand.

Frequently asked questions

How much Dulux paint for a 12×12 room?

Typically 2–3 gallons of interior latex for two coats. Diamond / Lifemaster often list ~400 sq ft per gallon on ideal walls. Canadian Tire staff cannot override a short can — round up in this calculator before you check out.

Dulux vs Sico — are they the same?

Both are PPG brands in Canada. Dulux is the national consumer name (Canadian Tire). Sico is especially strong in Quebec. Use the [Sico calculator](/sico-paint-calculator) when that is the label on the can.

Does Dulux list coverage in m²?

Often yes. 37 m² per 3.78 L ≈ 400 sq ft/gallon. Convert before entering sq ft per gallon, or use the imperial line if the bilingual label shows both.

Is this an official Dulux or PPG calculator?

No. Independent tool, not affiliated with Dulux, PPG, or Canadian Tire.
